General Cross Country Information
Season runs from August-November (Summer training starts July!)
Freshman - 2-2.5 miles
JV/Varsity - 5k (3.1 miles)
Freshman - 2-2.5 miles

- Meets are generally on dirt/grass paths or bike paths
- Varying terrain (hills, flats, packed gravel, etc)
- Might have dual meets? Invitationals. Championships
- If you train, you race.
- IF YOU MISS TWO (2) PRACTICES IN A WEEK, YOU WILL NOT RACE!
- CURRENT ATHLETES SHOULD BEGIN TRAINING 2 WEEKS AFTER THEIR LAST RACE!
- 3-4 practices a week in the summer (Holmdel Park, Manasquan Reservoir, Thompson Park
- Season OFFICIALLY begins August TBD!
- We warm up, train, & RACE as a TEAM!
- Whether you're #1 or #10, you're VITAL to our success
- You're expected to follow your training schedule; LOG YOUR RUNS
- Expect to be in the weight room 3 days per week
- Look at yourself in the mirror. You will not be the same person any longer!

THERE WILL BE NO PHYSICALS DONE IN SCHOOL THIS SUMMER
- Otherwise, you must get your physical done by your own doctor
- Summer review dates are:

- YOU MUST HAND IN YOUR PHYSICAL TO THE NURSE THE DAY BEFORE IT IS REVIEWED!

- See me with ANY problems. I cannot help you if I don't know what's going on!
- We lay the foundation for your success in EVERY OTHER SEASON! What you put in, is what you get out!

- You are expected to follow your training schedule & LOG YOUR RUNS

- Returners should start running 2 weeks after their last race!
- Don't sit around until July and be completely out of shape!
- I expect those of you dedicated enough to be ready to work!
